Elite ca. 1939 Eastern style Klytch (Kilij) sword made for a Russian museum by a well known Dagestan master.
Curved hand forged blade inscribed "Made of the Museum of USSR Peoples. Master B. Tobchiev 1939." Gilt crossguard decorated with floral ornamentation and image of a bird, Ivory gripwith gilt spine and with gilt pommel. Black laquered leather covered hilt with gilt fittings decirated en suite with the hilt.
Note: The Museum of USSR Peoples - was opened in 1923 in Leningrad and closed in 1948.
