Extremely rare c. 1921 Civil War era Soviet Zlatoust-made named presentation shashqua with a silver badge of the order of the Red Banner and inscribed blade.
Description:
Magnificient c. 1921 Soviet Russian presentation Tersk Cossack host "Caucasian style" shashqua sword with decorated gilt brass fittings and ivory grip. A silver and enameled order of the Military Red Banner of the RSFSR is attached to the locket of the scabbard. The blade is inscribed inside of an ornamental cartouche : "To Commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the RKKA (Red Army) from VTsIK (All-Russian Central Action Commitee) ." and "To Red Commander Konstantin Nikitich Lebedev." The blade has an image of the hammer and Sickle with words RSFSR on one side and etched drawing of a shoulder patch of the VIII Cavalry Division and bears a stamp of Zlatoust Arms Factory and 1921 manufacture date. The wooden scabbard is covered with brown leather.
Condition: Showing shome wear especially on the scabbard. The silver badge has minor chips on the enamel.
