Early 19th century Caucasian style Shashqua sword with silver mountings, ivory grip and ivory inserts on the scabbard.
Lighly curved 30 inch (76 cm) 18th century blade engraved on either side above the hilt with figures of mounted officers, each holding a spyglass and framed by engraved panels. Seal task ivory grip with large niello silver bird's head pommel chased with panels of leafy meander. Niello silver scabbard mounts chased with like borders and set with ivory panels inlaid with gold tendrils.
