19th century Caucasian style Shashqua sword with silver mountings and fancy european blade.

Lighly curved 31 1/2 inch (80 cm) blade with shallow fuller below the spine, the lower part engraved wuth motifs and mottos in the style of Solingen manufacture for the Hungarian market. Silver hilt with gold wash and beaded decoration interspersed with small niello panels. Black leather covered scabbard with silver mounts decorated en style with the hilt. Maker's mark on the blade of "E & F Hörster / Solingen"
