Russian Imperial model 1914 Air Service award dirk with a badge of the Order of St. Anne, 4th class.
Description:
The straight 10 inch (25 cm) diamond section blade, one side with etched panel featuring florals and cipher of Nicholas II, the reverse featuring a scene of a biplane, a Zeppelin and two observation balloons. Manufacturing mark of Zlatoust Arms Factory on ricasso. Crossguard inscribed in Russian on both sides "For Gallantry," cipher of Nicholas II on the pommel. Ebony grip set with WW1-era gilt brass and enamel badge of the order of St. Anne, 4th class. Brass mounted black leather covered scabbard.
Condition: Very good original condition, showing very some wear and minor cosmetic scratches on brass fittings, minor loss of red enamel on the St. Anne badge.
