An unusual Russian Black Sea dirk, mid- 18th century.

Description:

Broad, sharply curved massive blade with false edge. One side struck with small maker's mark. Heavy gilt brass crossgiard, the block with blossom and sunburst, the quillons with reeded and flared decoration. Brass mounted grip with open chinscale design showing the ivory gripscales below, one side set with three colored stones.

Condition: Very good original condition. Blade showing scattered spotting / light pitting.
